  • 3 bubblers, ie air stones

  •  1 stirring stick or tool
  •  1 small bottle of organic unsulfured molasses
  •  1 Tablespoon measure
  •  An old pillowcase or half of the tights for straining

 
Water: Well water can be used as compost for tea, but water from a municipal supply contains chlorine, which kills the beneficial organisms you need in your compost tea. Enter the bubblers in municipal water supply for at least one hour before using it for compost tea. Instructions for making your compost tea

  • Hang the gang valve on the edge of an empty bucket.
  • Arrange the 3 bubblers at the bottom of the tank. Cut three lengths of hose long enough to connect the bubblers to the gang valve. Allow a few extra inches on each so they will not be excluded by adding compost. Connect one end of each tube receiver, the other end of the gang valve.
  • Add compost loose on the top of the bubblers (not package) until the bucket is about half full.
  •  Cut a piece of hose long enough to go to the gang valve to the pump. Attach both ends.
  •  Add water in the bucket of compost until it is between 2 and 4 cm from the top.
  •  Turn the pump, and look to be sure the bubblers are all activated.
  •  In all 3 bubblers work quickly add 2 tablespoons of molasses, and stir. The molasses will feed the organisms that you want to grow. After stirring, the position of the bubblers to ensure they are evenly spaced and are at the bottom.
  • Stir your compost tea several times a day. After each stirring, check the bubblers to ensure they are evenly spaced and are at the bottom.
  •  Your compost tea will be done in 3 days. Turn the pump off and remove the bubblers, etc. If you can not immediately use your compost tea, continue aeration, but 2 tablespoons of molasses to keep adding good active organisms.
    Let the finished compost tea stand until the compost is well settled to the bottom. This obligation must be 15 to 25 minutes. Strain the compost tea into your second bucket. Pour into a spray and apply
